Description: This is the famous free Bejeweled Blitz online where your objective is to swap and match three gems in a row. In Bejeweled Blitz the bonus points are awarded when you match more than three gems or two lines of the same gems at the same time.

Bejeweled Blitz is a free flash version of PopCaps version of a gem swapping puzzle created for facebook. The rules are rather simple and easy to comprehend for a 60 second Bejeweled Blitz game. While gaming, a visible leader board prompts on the screen and captures the scores of your challenger friends. This leader board is reset every Tuesday. On every reset, you begin your challenge of competing for dominance over the scores of your friends.
The very concept of Bejeweled Blitz being a 60 second high paced game; is one that draws you into an addiction before you can even realize it. I stand testimony to the fact that the game ruled the better part of my life for close to a month. In due course however, I compulsively overcame the addiction and let it wane out, gradually, restricting my posting scores once a week or fortnight.
Recently, PopCap has relaunched Bejeweled Blitz and rekindled my passion for the game. Apart from the all too noticeable graphic combinations that have undergone changes, Bejeweled Blitz has been changed making it an instant attraction and a hands down re-addiction relapse for me and a lot of folks.
Evidently the most obvious change has been the introduction of a new gem, the Star Gem, which could be earned by matching 5 gems in the shape of an L or T. This gem would destroy all around its vicinity when activated. Due mention should be made of the chromo-genocidal Hypercube which continues to be a part of the game and the Power Gem that destroys adjacent gems now re baptized as the Fire Gem.
Another prominent change is the new found ability to match gems at any given point of time. Unlike earlier, one need not wait for combinations to end or for an array of new gems to descend from the top to start matching wherein the search for the matches ruled the game. With the changes from the all new Bejeweled Blitz you can literally take the game to newer heights than ever before from PopCaps casual hit Peggie.

I fixed this so it is now the 1 minute version. The ten minute version will still be available on the site as well for those who wish to play that one instead. Simply search: Bejeweled Blitz (10 min version) in the search box on the upper right
